How did your network start?
Back in the late 80s, a few pastors started gathering together to pray for Castle Rock on a regular basis. While the pastor’s group has been through a few versions of leadership and changes over the years, it has consistently gathered around prayer, specifically doing an annual National Day of Prayer event in the center of the Town of Castle Rock. In the last couple of years, under the leadership of Mark Marble, the group has grown in numbers and closeness with over twenty churches in the area being represented.
What are you focused on now?
For the last two years, we’ve been focused on being The Church of Castle Rock, i.e. being united in spirit through prayer. Now that there is a comradery among churches, we are seeking how we can meet the needs of southern Douglas County by working with leaders within the county who are trying to meet needs like foster care, homelessness, and elderly issues.
